DLC add-on Content That Should Be Unlockable In-game

Remember before when you played a game and it came with all the content in-game unlockable through play and completion? Doesn’t seem like to long ago we were playing games to open up bonus levels, unlock new weapons, get extra character skins, and etc… when now for some reason the industry thinks we should just buy it instead of unlock it by play. There are those few that still let us rejoice with awesome Unlockables like Dead Space 2 ( Foam Finger ), MGS4 ( Solar Powered Gun ), but they are becoming fewer and fewer.

One of the most recent games that shows this is L.A. Noire, Motorstorm: Apocalypse, and the upcoming BF3.
- L.A. Noire has us buying suits that give us benefits, why not have us do so many side missions or complete a case in a certain way to unlock these suits.
- Motorstorm has a ton of cars that they want you to buy, can we not just unlock these by completing the single player and playing multiplayer?
- BF3 has guns you can only get by pre-ording ( most likely will be available later). Dice have us unlock these guns by playing your single playera nd completing unique challenges online.
It is games like Dead Space 2 that make gamers want to play through the campaign multiple times to get a cool foam finger gun. Resistance: Fall of Man had the player unlock cool multiplayer skins by completing the single player on the hardest difficulty and completing unique tasks.

The reason why gamers are being so whiny and angry in this decade is because we feel like we are being used. Go back to when you card about he community and give us a even better reason to play through the campaign again or keep putting time on the multiplayer, don’t just give us a price tag and and item. We feel much more accomplished when we unlock it ourselves and don’t just buy it.
