Blame EA Not BioWare

by Sean Frenzel on March 12, 2011

“Unlike other titles from Bioware, this [score] was kind of a rush job

“EA really wanted to capitalize on the success of Origins, so the game was really being pushed hard to be released now.”

Now this is for all you hotheaded guys. I’m in no way calling Dragon Age 2 a bad game. Yes i will be saying bad things about it but overall it is a good game with a lot of potential that went unused due to EA rushing the game for profit. They knew everyone would flock to the game, like me, because of DA. EA told their Ma and Dad they want the money for their Will early and they got it.

From my time of 10+ hours on Dragon Age 2 I’m not the only one noticing this game just doesn’t feel like a well done Bio-Ware game. The characters are engaging and interesting as is the story, but it just doesn’t feel right.

The game feels rushed freezing on me 7 times now and you can’t put armor on anyone but Hawke(so far). The setting in the game just feels bland because most of the time you’re in Kirkwall and the scenery doesn’t change much. I’m comparing this game to DA where you could customize all of the characters load-outs and you could play 3 different races each with a different story, the setting was also ever-changing. The combat is about the same in DA just sped up a bit and if its to easy just up the Difficulty level because trust me there is a difference between Normal and Hard.

The game isn’t bad by all means. I’m interested in the story and characters but overall it just doesn’t have that BioWare feel to it. Ea let BioWare work on a game for as long as they want, im sure the results will get you much more money than rushing a hyped up sequal.

And that is how EA rolls

They are messing up alot of game that used to be good and still could be, all they care about now is money plain and simple.

I have way more respect for EA than Activision. Honestly, aside from the problem with running the game on very high settings, I’ve yet to crash and I’m running on 4x AA, 16x AF on high settings, DX11

I’m sure the pc version runs much better than the consoles. I played this on PS3 so don’t base this on pc performance.

Lets hope this doesn’t apply to Mass Effect 3
